NJ Vocal Arts Collaborative is a summer intensive founded in 2019, dedicated to teaching emerging vocal artists how to learn an operatic role and providing the opportunity to perform it. This summer, our young artists will rehearse and perform a semi-staged production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, complete with a full orchestra. All participating singers will have the opportunity to perform or cover a full role in the production, and participate in various masterclasses to gain valuable performance skills. In addition, all artists will perform in a formal Opera Gala concert of arias and ensembles with piano. Tickets will be sold for both Die Zauberflöte performances and our Gala!

Kirsten Gorsak, NJVAC 2019 Artist

"There’s something to be said about a program that guides young artists to develop not only their technique and performing ability, but also their artistic interpretation of a character in an opera production. Because of my experiences in this program, I was able to perform not just Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, but my interpretation of Cherubino. I believe that is something that makes this program so special. “
